To cook over a campfire in nature is one of the very finest things about being out on a trip. But Having some backup snacks that don’t require cooking, can save the mood if the project takes too long or fails completely. Pre-cut vegetables, crackers, and a few snacks in the backpack can make all the difference. Mark also that it is easier to heat food evenly on a camping stove than over an open fire.

A Few Favorites for the Family:

Calzones

  • Rolled pizza dough
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Ham Pieces
  • Butter for frying
  • A pan and a spatula

Roll out the dough, spread the filling you want on one half, and fold the dough over to close it, like a calzone. Cook it in a pan so it can be fried on both sides, until golden and warm.

Cinnamon Rolls

  • Rolled dough (same dough as for the pizza works fine)
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • Butter
  • Butter for frying
  • A pan and a spatula

Roll out the dough, spread butter, cinnamon, and sugar over it, then roll it up into a long log. Cut into slices and place them in a frying pan. Fry on both sides.

S`mores

  • crackers
  • Marshmallows
  • Chocolate

Toast the marshmallow over the fire. Place it on a cracker, add a piece of chocolate on top, and finish with another cracker.

Press it together and enjoy the perfect campfire treat.
